Lessons are available in the instrument of your choice with online or in-person options available. Lessons are also available in-home with an additional monthly consultation fee of $50-200/month. Pricing for lessons is as follows:
Private Lessons, 30-minute lesson package: $150/month
Private Lessons, 45-minute lesson package: $175/month
Private Lessons, 60-minute lesson package: $200/month
Group Lessons, 45-minute lesson package: $120/month
Music Explorers, 45-minute group classes: $20/month (per family)
Please note that the 60-minute lesson package includes a 45-minute lesson in the instrument of your choice and a 15-minute supplemental lesson in music theory or songwriting.
The Well Music and Arts Foundation offers a trial lesson free of charge. This lesson includes a discussion of goals, a short assessment in the instrument and/or subject matter, and then an interactive lesson in basic techniques in the instrument, or a drop-in in an already existing group class. After the lesson the student (and/or parent) can make the decision of whether to contract this studio for music lessons. This studio asks that students commit to lessons for three months before breaking a lesson contract.
-
Students are expected to be prepared and arrive on time for their lessons. If you are running late for any reason, please call/text your teacher. Your lesson will not be extended because you will be running late. If your teacher is running late for any reason, your missed time will be made up in full at the discretion of the student and/or parent.
The monthly lesson package fee reserves four lessons scheduled by the student and/or parent. During recital months (December/June), this fee reserved two lessons and a rehearsal date in addition to the recital. No refunds will be applied for missed lessons. If the student needs to miss a lesson for any reason, please notify the teacher at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled lesson time and the teacher will reschedule. In emergency circumstances (hospital visits, death in the family), please notify the teacher as soon as possible to cancel a lesson with the option of rescheduling. Unexcused lessons (not showing up for lessons, canceling within 24 hours in non- emergency circumstances) will not be rescheduled. The teacher reserves the right to cancel a contract if a student has multiple absences.
-
Unless otherwise set by the teacher, students are expected to practice:
30-minute lessons: 15 minutes per day for beginning lessons, 4-5 days per week
45-minute lessons: 25 minutes per day (with a 5-10 minute break), 5-6 days per week
Students will be encouraged to keep a practice log. If practice expectations are not met, a discussion about future lessons will be necessary.
Students who practice improve faster- practicing outside of lesson times helps build a student’s physical and mental stamina and increases a lesson’s value by making it more productive. Quality practicing is distraction-free- no texting/calls, TV, computer, video games. Practice time should take place in a quiet, well-lit, and comfortable area.
-
Preparedness: complete all homework before your lesson; be ready five minutes beforehand.
Materials: pull out your books and place them on or near your instrument before lessons.
Practicing: try your best to meet your practice goal.
Attendance: be ready to begin five minutes before your lesson time!
-
The student is responsible for their own practicing. However, parents are encouraged to be involved in their child’s practice, as all students need support in developing healthy practice habits. Expect to remind and encourage your child to take the time to practice.
